The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Moredun Research Institute (Moredun), based near
Moredun was established in 1920 as the Animal Diseases Research Association, and has now evolved into a world leading Research Institute focused on the control of infectious diseases in farm livestock, including cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry. Moredun has been responsible for research that has lead to a number of highly successful and ubiquitously used vaccines including vaccines against louping ill, clostridial disease and pneumonia in cattle. The Institute has an extensive pipeline of opportunities based on their international expertise in bacteriology, parasitology and virology.

Inocul8 has been spun out from Moredun to foster and advance a number of exiting new opportunities for vaccines against a range of livestock diseases. The company’s first round of funding has been secured by a grant from Genecom, as part of a project supported by the European Regional Development Fund and Public Sector Research Exploitation funding from the Department of Innovation, Universities and Skills.
